AfroFuture is a photographic experiment, exploring the ideas of Afrofuturism, which is an idea that projects black people in the future. Unfortunately, in sci-fi movies black people are not well respresented, if not at all. Afrofuturism also explores the idea experience of black people (especially the translatlantic slave trade) is often parallel to the plots of sci-fi stories and therefore, through this lens, blackness is a technology. This project was a collaboration between Armhed Louis-Jean and myself and it culminated into a book, the first of a series.
